Georgia Council of Supervisors of Mathematics

The Georgia Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (GCSM) is an organization of mathematics leaders in the State of Georgia. 

The purpose of GCSM is:

  • To improve mathematics instruction and teacher education programs,
  • To provide information regarding mathematics education,    
  • To cooperate with other organizations for the improvement of mathematics education.
If you are a math coach, instructional leader, coordinator, supervisor, math mentor etc., GCSM is for you!

Featured Speaker: Brittany Goerig

Brittany Goerig is a product manager at hand2mind and lead-author and co-creator of Daily Math Fluency. Before joining hand2mind, she was a K–5 mathematics consultant and an elementary and middle school teacher for 22 years. Brittany has first-hand experience using numeracy strategies to help students succeed. Brittany co-presented with the author of Building Powerful Numeracy, Pamela W. Harris, at the Texas Regional Collaborative for other service center consultants. She has been involved in helping children and teachers construct their own mathematical knowledge based on understanding and relationships.

Georgia Council of Supervisors of Mathematics Outstanding Leadership Award Nominations

The GCSM Outstanding Leadership Award is presented to a member of the organization who demonstrates excellence and strong leadership in mathematics education. As a leader, this award recipient gives much to others beyond the classroom as a mentor, advocate, and global contributor to the improvement of mathematics education. The awardee is a math leader, which is professionally active, and promotes the GCSM mission.
