GCSM Business Meeting

October 15, 2008

President Dawn Souter called the Fall Business Meeting of the Georgia Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (GCSM)

to order at 2:29.

Minutes from the February 2008 meeting were read by President, Dawn Souter and Kim Rhodes. 

The minutes were approved as read.

Old Business:

Financial Report

Margaret Faircloth discussed the financial report that was disseminated to the members.

Progress Update of Gwen Wood

After the reading of the minutes, a discussion ensued concerning the progress of Gwen Wood. Information regarding

her surgery and progress were discussed.

New Business:

Winter Conference 2009

Dawn discussed that the Winter Conference would commence with a February 4th Meet and Greet in the evening

with the formal meeting running from February 5th-6th and ending with the business meeting which would be placed

last on the agenda.  It is at that time that nominations for a new vice president would need to be heard.

Questions regarding the prices of the hotel arouse.  Dawn stated that the hotel prices are ranging from $99.00-$149.00 per night.

Dawn stated that she would be distributing an email with details about the hotel to include the pricing.

Carole Tilley corrected the meeting members by stating that the travel for the conference was Tuesday, February 3rd and

that the actual conference would occur from February 4th -6th, 2009.

Adjournment:

A motion was made and seconded and approved to adjourn the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:49
